Devontae’s Play-By-Play

Communication is an important thing. Without proper information a lot of bad things can happen in the world. Relaying important information can be crucial for consumer to make a sound decision when it comes to purchasing a product. Same thing goes in the work force; without proper communication can lead to delay in productivity and possibly injury to both the company and its employees. Choosing not to relay all the information can be easily be viewed as a cover up in the public eyes, if this information discovered before it is publicly release. Withholding information may seem to get to a certain object in a faster manner, but that is the same as skipping a step. The world needs to know all that went into creating a perfect plan. The reason why is because it may be an ethical moment that lead up to the perfect plan. This may seem small sacrifice for a large game, but this can be shameful enough to dame the company image that it can’t possibly recover from. Taking a deep though and reflect on the pros and cons can help to make a sound decision. Also asking the options of other can be helpful. There have been many companies that struggle with communication and a lot of them eventually end up crashing and burn, public humiliated, and a public joke in the world eyes. Ultimately it comes down your own personal choice. Ethical movements will never stop coming and its up to us to make a sound decision on for the future of the company.

As a lot of us already thought a few years ago before heading into college; what career path do we want to intake in. this can take us down many different roads as we soul search to find that answer. Some of us it can take a short moment, while other it may take years to truly get that answer. In the work for the demand for worker is increasing every year for more train and experience worker. Choosing what career path can save you a lot of time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears. No wants to be that person that paid the large sum of money to go to college, only to found out that the career felt like a job to you. Not only do you have to find the right career but determined the right demand for worker. Research show that in the upcoming years, the medical field will be in the highest demand for work. As people are starting to live longer and the population to continue to increase, there will be a need for more people in the medical field to take care of this increasing population. The rate of growth for the field is steadily increasing as pretty good rate. I feel that a good portion of the growth speed goes hand and hand with the rate of the population increasing in the world. As the world continues to fill up the employer’s demand for worker will as well to support the need to stabilize the economy that we all live in.

The job I did my research on was the Youth entrepreneur program or YE for short. This company helps local youth promote creativity and to start business of their own. The company was created in Wichita Kansas in 1991. This nonprofit organization has been running strong for year helping children achieve their dream.  The internet sources I use to gather some of the information. Was the website of the company, and Facebook. The reason I use the Facebook is because people put their personal view of the company. Mainly I looked to see the feelings from current students and alumni. I trust their options because I went through the program, giving me a personal view of the stature of the comments that was placed. I feel that going through the program will be very appealing to the recruiter, because I can speak to students, explaining how well the program influence me as I develop my business plan. This can help encourage students to look at the big picture. Applying for the job, on my resume I would talk how open and creative I am. Also, being very adaptable can be helpful aspects that can put on my resume to help me stick out a little more. My resume isn’t very long due to my working and academic years are not very long after high school but speaking about the program success on me can help make a difference wen applying.

The job I have kept in mind is at my currently company that I work with. Textron aviation has been paying a good portion of my education and I very grateful for it. Majority of my family has been working for the company and I am following their footsteps, but in my own way. I do not want to work on the shop floor, but in a position that I can try to make difference or influence of how the company will continue to grow. The position I am currently looking at, is a entry level accounting position. Two of words I would to catch the employer attention would be budgeted and oversaw. These two things play a good role in an accounting position. Other words I would use would be tidy, organize, specific, multitasking, outgoing, determine, goal oriented, and team player.  These are skill I am currently excelling or improving in. I have some experience from my current job that can give sum insight from a finance side. This can go hand and hand once I get my accounting degree after graduating. My qualification would finely met. I have been tracking accounting positions for a few years, trying to complete all the things I can so I can finally apply for the position. The last thing I am currently needing is a degree in the field. I attended workshops, meet and greets, and seminars with few places I am anticipating applying for after graduation. This can help me get my face out to employers, so they can have a face the recognize when they are looking at prospective candidates.

                          The three-communication task that I would need to accomplish in the next upcoming weeks will be a one of the highlights I am excited for in this class. Building a resume and cover letter is something I feel that every career person should be working on. this is a chance to show case yourself on paper, to talk about your best feature and aspects. this can make people love you before they even meet you. this will require some self-reflection, as I will have to take a long look at myself. to ask myself ”

                   what do you think your best feature are”?
trying to reach my audience who are hopefully my future employer can be a scary task. I am not strong at creating resume, but I feel that this project can give me a little insight to help achieve a great resume that I could use one day after I graduate in the next year or so. To construct a well thought out cover will take some time, but I been working on constructing more direct messages from the previous lesson that we have done in the past few weeks.

                   Next, I will be working on gather incite from shadowing and interviewing a few of my coworkers. This will be helpful for me to find out what it will take to move up in my career and if it will be worth it. Being polite, patience, and direct to help get through the process without taking up too much of their busy schedule. The information can lead to more opportunity and chances to take on bigger role within my community. Reaching out to youth of the world is something that my company trying their best to reach. To better prepare them for the future of the financial world. Being one of the few young people young people at my job, this give me a chance to show off  my experience as a young person, but give me a chance to also learn from the more experience adults at work.
